Mindfulness: Importance of Sleep

In this addition to our Mindfulness in primary schools series, your pupils will explore the importance of sleep and discover plenty of KS2 Mindfulness activities to help improve their sleep quality. Using Mindfulness exercises and creative techniques, your children will discover the impact of sleep deprivation and understand how the choices they make at night can have a huge impact on their days.

What the children learn...

  • Explore why we need to sleep and what impacts a lack of sleep can have
  • Examine what elements are required for quality sleep and how the effects of screen time and white light impacts on these
  • Encourage tips for healthy sleep through discussion and practical mindfulness activities
  • Experience techniques to aid relaxation in preparation for a night of healthy sleep

How this One Day Workshop works:

Structure

This is delivered as a 1 or 2 hour workshop per class of 35. We can usually work with up to 4 classes across a school day.

What we need from you

A large, clear space (such as a school hall) is ideal so participating children can move around comfortably. The more information you can provide about the needs of your class the better.
