Students: come together and use creativity to open up discussion about how we can create a more considerate, open and equal world!
"I have a dream, that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the colour of their skin, but by the content of their character..."
Together we will plunge into the wonderful lives and influences of some of history’s most inspiring heroes – Martin Luther King, Rosa Parks and Nelson Mandela. Using drama, we’ll explore the Civil Rights movements and the achievements of great black people through history and today in modern times.
The people we meet, the struggles we discover and the achievements we celebrate, will provide the perfect stimulus for further development to take back into your classroom.
One Day will work with your pupils through a dynamic and creative workshop with our fully trained professional facilitator. Our One Day facilitator and your budding thespians will explore a diverse range of key themes such as enhanced creative teaching of the chosen topic, stimulating imagination, encouraging discussion, enhanced speaking and listening skills, improved confidence, teamwork and oh yes… let’s not forget… bags and bags of fun!

"One Day created something truly wonderful in just one day. Children learnt about Black History Month in a creative and interactive way. The children performing enjoyed the day and some of our 'quiet' children came out of their shell! The whole school really loved the performance and have since gone away and researched their own Black History/Diversity project. A great day! Thank you!
