Avast m'hearties… be ye internet savvy? Set sail with Captain Digi on her ship, Online Safety, and sail through the stormy seas of the Internet.
Playing online games can be so much fun, with wonderful worlds to explore, and cool characters to meet! But what would happen if you could enter the game for real? Using well known fairytales, we explore how to navigate out of some tricky situations. Will the Three Little Pigs tell the Big Bad Wolf where they live? Will Red Riding Hood notice that Granny looks a bit different today? And will anyone be able to stop the Ugly Sisters from being horrible to Cinderella?
Your class will…
Explore how to use technology respectfully and safely, keeping personal information private
Explore how images online do not always reflect reality
Explore how to recognise when people are being unkind online, and where to go for help and support
Creative Play workshops are short and sweet, designed to be a burst of creativity to keep children engaged. As the sessions are usually only an hour long, we can work with four classes across the school day. The sessions are led by an experienced facilitator who collaborates with pupils in order to explore the topic through drama.
This workshop includes props and accessories to aid learning
Tell us more about your issues you’re facing in school in advance of the workshop so the content we deliver can hit the spot!
"On Monday we were informed that we would have an Ofsted visit on Tuesday and Wednesday - when the e-safety workshops were happening. We let the workshops go ahead and Ofsted popped in. They thought they were REALLY good. Feedback from the teachers and children was excellent – they really took on board the messages and the teachers thought that the Facilitator was brilliant. On later days children have made references to the messages that were given so all in all the workshops were highly successful and we hope that we are able to book you again next year. Thank you for organising a super couple of days and well done that it was so organised, informative and fun.
