Workshop
History of the Olympics
KS1 / KS2
The Olympic Games were started by the Greeks in 776 BC to honour the almighty king of the gods, Zeus. 776 BC?! That’s a seriously long time ago! So why do we still celebrate and compete today?
Bonjour! The world-famous Olympic Games are arriving in Paris this year. What better time for a quick trip across the channel to visit our European neighbour, France?
Led by a One Day facilitator, your KS1/KS2 pupils will use an array of drama activities to explore the culture of this wonderful country. To begin? A wander through the magical streets of Paris, rich with history, significant landmarks and some serious style. A fine setting indeed for the 2024 Olympic Games. C’est magnifique!
A wonderful workshop to tie in with geography topics all year round or to celebrate the Olympic Games in Paris 2024.

Class Teacher"We liked how the workshops were well-controlled, informative, accessible and well paced. All the children and staff throughout the week thoroughly enjoyed the sessions. They were well linked to the curriculum and age appropriate. The games were fun but also contained important learning and information. Our facilitator was knowledgeable, approachable, professional and friendly. In a short space of time she built up good relationships with staff and children, managing the sessions extremely well. Definitely an experience we would want to repeat."
