Start-Up Success: Our ‘Business of the Year’ Award Nomination!

One Day launched with a bang in early 2013, thanks to the financial support of the Start Up Loans Company and the Business Enterprise Fund. After almost 18 months of hard work, growing and adapting, we were thrilled to receive an email from the Start Up Loans Company informing us that One Day had been shortlisted as ‘Start-Up Business of the Year 2014’. That’s right, we made the final 35 from a long list of 600 UK businesses!

All we had to do to win was to make a short video to say why we deserved it, then hold our breath and wait for the result.

We were invited down to the Lord Mayor’s Office in London to hear the result, and we had a lovely morning celebrating our achievements with other likeminded businesses. It really hit home how many jobs small businesses are creating across the UK and how such businesses are playing their part in helping the economy to recover.

Sadly, we didn’t win the crown but we were incredibly proud to be part of the excitement. The well-deserved title went to Weekend Box, a fabulous company who are providing children across the country with engaging activities to keep them entertained all weekend.

We’re extremely proud to have been involved and will certainly keep striving to be the best that we can be.
