I can’t believe that the 2015-16 academic year is already upon us! Where did the summer go? It already feels like autumn today, with the rain pouring down. Oh dear.
On a much more positive note, so many of you will have worked with our wonderful Scottish Director Shona, who we are thrilled to account is having a baby! Congrats Shona! Her little bundle of joy is due in December – a perfect Christmas present, and another One Day baby!
So time to think about this fantastic year ahead of us – with so many exciting things and new expressive arts projects on the go. Firstly, we’d like to draw your attention to all of our fabulous ‘Scottish Tales’ drama workshops, where we meet Nessie and Hamish the Hairy Haggis, all whilst exploring the fantastic city of Edinburgh. These projects are perfect to link in with literacy and tend to be popular all year round.
Anti-Bullying Week in November is already looking very busy in the One Day calendar. This year, as well as our own drama and play workshops, we’re teaming up again with a Theatre Company to deliver ‘UGLY‘, a whole school performance on anti-bullying & cyber-bullying, specifically created with Anti-Bullying Week in mind. Tour dates for the autumn are in October, and are booking up quickly – so please give us a shout to book your morning/afternoon slot.
Moving into the spring term, Rabbie Burns kicks us off in January, and then E-Safety & Safer Internet Week takes over for the entire month of February. For the last two years, we’ve worked to absolute capacity in February, so please get in touch ASAP about your Internet Safety, Online Gaming and Cyber-Bullying requirements. We now have so many E-Safety workshops to offer, with some very attractive packages for you for this year.
The summer term will bring us a huge array of health, well-being and cultural dance, music and drama workshops – and we can’t wait to launch our brand new Aborigine dance workshop – more details coming soon!
So happy year ahead!!! We are looking forward to running our auditions in Edinburgh, on Friday 4th September – we’re on the hunt for some more super-talented and passionate people to add to our team in Scotland.
Love Becky and the One Day Team x
