Workshop
History of the Olympics
KS1 / KS2
The Olympic Games were started by the Greeks in 776 BC to honour the almighty king of the gods, Zeus. 776 BC?! That’s a seriously long time ago! So why do we still celebrate and compete today?
The Olympic Games is all about winning… right? Wrong! In this KS2 drama workshop, we use creative activities to explore inspirational stories of resilience and good sportsmanship. Taking part in competitions can place so much focus on the end goal, it’s easy to forget that dedication and discipline can also lead to great success. Together, let’s encourage your class to explore the reasons why taking part in sports can be so rewarding, even if they don’t always win.
