Workshop
Citizens of Chocolate
KS2
Explore how cocoa was discovered in this Mayans and chocolate KS2 workshop, how it was used and why it was so important to the Maya people.
Hop on board with our intrepid explorer Laura as she sets sail to Mesoamerica. In this KS2 video, your pupils will learn about ancient Mayan civilisation, their culture, their gods and how important the cocoa bean was to them. Along the way, you'll visit a busy Mayan marketplace and an ancient temple complete with hieroglyphic inscriptions. Once everyone's clued up on Mayan numerals, it's time for a maths challenge!
