Once Upon a Time

England, Scotland, Wales

Combine literacy, fairytales, nursery rhymes and adventure for a "whodunnit" detective story!

It is down to Detectives Gumshoe and Gumshoe and Officer Nibble to get to the bottom of this woolly mystery and reunite Little Bo-Peep with her stolen sheep. Your pupils will take the lead, meeting and cross-examining a number of fairy tale characters such as Old MacDonald, The Pied Piper, The Big Bad Wolf, Little Red Riding Hood, Mother Hubbard, the Three Little Pigs, Little Boy Blue and many more.

Can you solve the mystery of “who stole Bo-Peep’s sheep?”

This workshop can also be delivered as a one week project for a number of classes.

"There was such a buzz around school on Monday morning when word got out about the quality of the workshops! We were delighted that your staff commented on how creative and enthusiastic the children were as well as complimenting them on their behaviour and cooperation skills. This balance was achieved because the workshops were really well managed to ensure that the children explored characters and events in lots of different ways, with each class being given scope to be imaginative and express diverse ideas whilst being motivated and guided to remain fully on task. It was a wonderful week for pupils and great CPD for staff too, as many of them have talked about incorporating some of the activities and techniques used by your team!"
