Students: come together and use creativity to open up discussion about how we can create a more considerate, open and equal world!
We understand many schools will have different agendas when looking at this topic. Please talk to us first to ensure the content meets your school’s issues - our workshop can be moulded to suit your school’s needs.
We have developed this workshop with positivity in mind – educating pupils on difficult topics but also celebrating diversity. What makes us special snd unique is always worth celebrating – we hope to create a carnivalesque atmosphere that gets the children excited about the fact that we’re all different!
We want pupils to think about this crucial topic on an emotional level, and help them tap into concepts that might be new or different. Topics include:
What is a diverse society? How are we all different?
*Colours of the Rainbow*
What is LGBT?
Investigating bullying, discrimination, prejudice and homophobia.
*Then and Now*
Exploring the development of the LGBT rights movement.
Thinking about students’ lives at home, at school and growing up in general. Encountering different types of families and creating a celebratory ethos around diversity and difference.
One Day will work with your pupils through a dynamic and creative workshop with our fully trained professional facilitator.
"I thought it was brilliant, The children were all engaged and enthusiastic about it. They listened and responded well and those children who are usually quiet really came 'out of their shell' which was lovely to see! I am definitely going to do some more hot seating in my literacy lessons to help me model vocabulary I want the children to use in their writing. I've even pinched a really good behaviour strategy! I would definitely recommend the company to others, thank you!"
